SATURDAY WEATHER OUTLOOK: *Passing of a weak front starting tonight: The tail-end of a weakening cold front is trekking over Kauai from the northwest. The front will reach Oahu overnight, then move across Maui county on Sunday before reaching the Big Island later in the day where it is expected to stall and dissipate on Monday. The front is rather shallow and with a more stable airmass building in from the west, most showers are expected to be on the light side with the frontal passage. With the stable airmass moving in behind the front... Sunday will be fairly sunny and nice for the western half of the state with isolated pockets of rain for the eastern half (along the front). OUTLOOK: BACK TO TRADE WIND WEATHER... High pressure will build in northwest of the state behind the front and gradually move eastward through the course of the week to a position northeast of the state by Friday. Any showers that do fall are expected to be light and brief and mainly confined to windward and mauka areas with most leeward locations remaining rather dry. SURF: SURF WILL REMAIN ELEVATED... as a series of moderate northwest and north northwest swells will persist through next week, but briefly fall into the small category Tuesday night and Wednesday. Sunday through Monday on South and part of west facing shores.... WATCH OUT FOR BOX JELLY FISH.
