SAY IT AINT SNOW Its Friday, the sun is shining, temps near 50, what a great way to end the week and approach the weekend. WRONG! We need to watch a southern system very closely for Sunday night into Monday. This is the same exact set up from a couple weeks ago when we tracked a southern low on a Friday that looked like more than a half foot of snow and all weekend the models keep pushing it farther and farther south. By the time Monday arrived with the storm, only a few inches fell. Well this is the SAME set-up with an Arctic High to the north sending lots of dry air in Sunday night. Question that will need to be looked over this weekend are: 1.) how much moisture comes north with the low (again this is not a coastal storm just a fast moving west to east low) 2.) how strong is the high to the north to puch the storm and dry air south. Right now models are all over the place with anywhere from 2-10...I would never put that on a forecast, but that is the raw numbers. Just be aware something could arrive Sunday night and Monday...little or big. I am here Sunday working, so please tune in then and we will have a much better handle on this late season storm. Karen will be here Saturday as well to help you all out. Late season storms are VERY different to forecast given the higher variables with Spring around the corner. This is not meant to happen too often this time of year.
