SDC Letter to Parents: Dear Parents and Guardians, We need - TopicsExpress

SDC Letter to Parents: Dear Parents and Guardians, We need your help. I have had numerous reports from citizens, community leaders and school staff of the inappropriate behavior some of our parents are exhibiting (and modeling) for their children when dropping off or picking up students. Each school has a designated drop off and pick up area for their students. If you have not already, you will be receiving communication from your schools administrator on drop-off and pick-up procedures. For those parents who are following the designated drop-off and pick-up routines, thank you for your continued cooperation. There are several things you can do to help insure a smooth and safe transition to and from school: • Have patience. Allow for extra time, understanding that there are hundreds of students being dismissed at one time. • Follow the recommended drop-off and pick-up procedures developed by your schools leadership team. • Make sure your child uses the designated crosswalks. • Follow all posted signs. They have been put in place to assist in a smooth transition to and from school. • Pull up to the first open spot. At CHS it may be the bus loading zone; keep in mind buses have first priority. • Follow all traffic and safety rules around school zones. Your childs safety is of utmost importance to us. Please help us make sure that everyone gets to school and home safely. Thank you for taking the time to read this. We need to work together to insure a smooth drop-off and pick-up routine. Sincerely, James P. Heiden, PhD Superintendent
