SE -structure, distributed in Italy by Reabita Ltd., is also in the new 3-storey building now launched by Muji! The fundamental principle of Muji (“mu-ji” means in Japanese “no brand”) is to develop new and simple products at reasonable prices, using the materials in the best way while always keeping in mind their environmental impact. Muji design, simple and natural, fits perfectly into the lifestyle of today. Muji, present with stores around the globe, including Italy, sells also houses in Japan on the basis of a few models designed by famous architects such as Kengo Kuma, Kazuhiko Namba and others. A model, designed by the architect Shigeru Ban, Pritzker Prize 2014, as saying the Nobel prize for architecture this year, has recently been added. It is currently at the prototype stage and was showcased at the House Design Vision Exhibition in Tokyo 2013. The model shown in the photos is aimed at an urban context (tate-no-ie means in Japanese vertical home). The exterior is clad in wood with a central staircase in steel and timber onto which all the internal spaces are visually connected.
