SEASON OF CHANGE - Two Announcements Today, Cedar City was full of freshly robed SUU graduates. Celebrations like this are marks of transition, that inevitable thing called change that looks to the future with expectation. CrossFit Cedar City is also in a season of change as we flex with the ebb and flow of individual lives. That said, we have some bittersweet news to share. Two years ago, we gladly welcomed SHAUN MARSHALL back to CrossFit Cedar City as our lead trainer. Many of our current clients were introduced to CrossFit in Shaun’s Foundations classes, and every CrossFit Cedar City athlete has benefited from his thoughtful programming, skilled coaching, and kind demeanor. We also had the joy of watching Shaun lead the 2013 CFCC Team at Southwest Regionals. We have benefited much from his presence at CrossFit Cedar City, so it is with mixed emotions that we are announcing that Shaun is moving to Salt Lake City to pursue an internet marketing career. Shaun will be around for another week, but tomorrow (May 3) will be his last time coaching a Saturday 9 a.m. WOD. Please come sweat with your friends… we’re sure he’s got something special planned. A going-away party will be scheduled for the upcoming week, so stay tuned. On another note, we are very pleased to announce that JAKE HUTTON has agreed to join the coaching staff at CrossFit Cedar City. Jake comes to us with deep experience as a strength and conditioning coach and as a Division I collegiate athlete. He is eager to bring his leadership and skill to the floor as a trainer at CFCC, so you can expect to see him coaching in the very near future. The whole CFCC family has been looking forward to cheering Jake on as he pursues the 2014 CrossFit Games, so it is hard to tell everyone that due to compression fractures in his spine, Jake has withdrawn from this year’s competition. YOU are going to be where his energy and focus are during the Games season, and we are glad to know that he will be among some of the most generous, loving and enthusiastic people in the world as he recovers from his injury and the disappointment. We are hopeful for 2015! As we ALL move forward, let us pursue with excellence. Thank you in advance for showing your appreciation and support for both Shaun and Jake, as both men have modeled for our CrossFit family what it is to give your very best.
