SEASON WRAP-UP Thank you players, parents, siblings, family and friends for supporting the Broomfield Thunder Express in their Inaugural Season! It was an absolute blast spending all those 90 degree, blazing hot, not a cloud in sight, afternoons with all of you. It is absolutely amazing to see the network of support these boys have behind them. As a whole, the boys achieved objective success winning the Altitude League Championship, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Tournament and Co-Champs of the Rocky Mountain Invitational. They had close to a flawless league record with astronomical at bat stats. Did I mention three over the fence homers! Way to go boys! What they accomplished more as athletes, as a team, and as individuals is more difficult to ascertain. Each was challenged in different ways throughout the season. Some learned new positions, some played at a highly competitive level for the first time, some went down, then went up in the batting order. All took their share of lumps and bumps, experienced 11s field dimensions for the first time, and most needed a little time to get used to wearing so much red and black. Express Coaches themed the season with the word Patience. It was our first full season together as an official group of coaches and there was a lot of learning ahead. Thanks to Brent and Chris for a fabulous job teaching these boys the game of baseball and donating all those hours of personal time. Thanks to Doug for your contributions in pitching, Brandon for catching, and Luke for guidance. Jill for holding it all together and sending out just a few emails. Last but not least, Rachel for taking on the dynamic world of the finances. What is your teams name?, What organization do you play for? We all heard that at the beginning of the season. By the end, they knew who we were! The Express starts anew in 2015 announcing that we will be participating at the 11U Majors Level. Plan for more tournaments and less league games as we take it to the next level. Expect participation in USSSA, Triple Crown, and CABA Tournaments at the highest level.
