SEE INSPIRATIONS MAGAZINE SUCCESS STORY (TODAY’S TOP STORY) GOD SHOWED ME MERCY IN SPITE OF MY SEARCH FOR WEALTH IN THE WRONG PLACES ….There is no short-cut to anywhere worth going I was raised by my father as my parents got divorced long before I grew up to know my name. Life was however meaningless as I missed having the ideal family like my peers had. My father left for work very early in the morning only to be back late in the evening and the best he could ask me is, “have you had something to eat.” Well, without a role model to mirror at home, I soon took to the streets with my peers. I would actually dress up in the morning like one that was off to school. But as soon as my father leaves for work, I would go back home to play with my gang. I was not doing well in school as I hardly attended classes. My life continued in this downward trend until I managed to gain admission into a higher institution. And going by the challenges I had while in school, I thought it would be difficult for me to make it in life, thus I resorted to making it no matter what it cost, but unfortunately, I went the most negative/ crude way. One day, while reading through the pages of a daily newspaper, I saw a get-rich -quick column advert and I immediately contacted the advertisers using the phone number on display. The man I spoke with gave me an address with which my friend and I them and on arrival at the venue, we were told to pay the sum of thirty thousand naira for money-generating rituals. The following morning, we were with a ritualist who did some incantations into a pot and on opening the pot, it was filled with money. We were not allowed to touch as we were told the money was too hot and needed to be cooled down with either human blood or several kinds of snails. Rather than use blood, we chose the snail option which costed about twenty-two thousand for two hundred and one pieces. At that point, my friend and I had only half of the money for the snail so we pleaded with the ritualist to accept and use what we had. The following morning when we got back to the shrine, we saw that the snail have been mixed with dry gin to make some concoction. We were then asked to sit down and pray to the god of iron as the god was meant to answer us with a gift in form of charm or ring which shall serve as protection for us. My friend and I did as instructed and to our surprise, we saw a great smoke from the concoction as against the real fire expected. We asked the Ritualist why and he answered that it was because we didn’t provide the exact amount of snails required for the sacrifice. The actual amount involved was thirty-seven thousand dollars from which we were given two thousand dollars to change and buy the required items for the sacrifice. And we were instructed to go home with the balance of the money, which we were to put under our pillow for three days before spending. On getting home, we did as we were instructed but at day three, we discovered that the supposed money has become plantain leaves, and a few days after, my friend died after that experience. This was one of my several experiences with the occult world in my search for money. One of my last experiences happened when I went to my hometown to make yet another sacrifice for money. And while there, I came across a pastor who told me that I was trying to get from the devil what God had already destined for me. He continued that if I go on with my mission, I will be destroyed. I went back home and as I pondered on and discussed what I had been told by the pastor, the Spirit of God took over. Today, I am back to God and He has shown me mercy in spite of my search for wealth in the wrong places. He spared my life and gave me a brand new life in Christ. Today I am contented with His blessings upon my life. I am into production of ice cream and yoghurt on a personal/part time basis while I work full time with an international organization that’s into import and export. With my experiences, I thus admonish everyone, including our youths that there is no lasting or real wealth outside of Christ. Mr A.
