SEEK DAILY (NBC) Wednesday, August 20 Colossians 1:15-23 MAKING PEACE THROUGH THE CROSS And through Him to reconcile to himself all things…making peace through His blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1:20, KJV Peace is a state of being calm and quiet, free from all disturbances and noise. There is nothing to be compared with someone who is at peace with God. But, one who is an enemy of God is ‘restless’. There are always wars within such a person. The wars are borne out of the sins he/she commits. Thus, he/she dares not approach God. The truth is, if there is anything most needed, it is peace. And the only way God has provided for us to be at peace with Him is the cross, where the precious blood of Jesus was shed. Friend, God is the only One who gives true peace; any other form of peace is artificial. He is peace Himself. Therefore, to enjoy this peace to its fullest, you must be a friend of God through Christ (v. 21). You must repent of your sins and submit your life to Jesus. Note that no matter how terrible your sins are, a drop of the blood of Jesus can wipe them away. Thus, God is calling you this day. If you are born again, let the whole world know that true peace comes only from Jesus Christ. Let your words and actions show that you are a son or daughter of the Prince of Peace. If Jesus made peace through the cross, be determined to live for this purpose. • Birthday Blessing: “His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.” Psalm 25:13 Read Bible Through Passage: Psalm 78-79; Romans 15 Fellowship with God is inseparable from good life. - Helen H.
