SEEK DAILY, Wednesday, January 29 Deuteronomy 5:22-27 THE VOICE OF THE LIVING GOD …And we have heard his voice from the fire…. Deuteronomy 5:24, NIV The account of life in the Garden of Eden shows that pre-fall Adam and Eve were at peace and most likely joyful to hear the voice of the Lord whenever He came visiting. But immediately they committed sin, the story changed. They started hiding due to fear. The children of Israel did not fare better as they also believed they would die if God spoke to them. So, they devised an alternative means of hearing God by asking Moses to hear God on their behalf, and inform them afterward (vv. 23-27). This sorry situation has continued even till today. People now prefer to consult prophets to tell them the mind of God even after Jesus has bridged the gap between us and God the Father. Most of these so-called prophets and fortune tellers use psychology and even charms to predict things. Their messages are often influenced by their greed, and they usually lead to grievous errors! You can reclaim your birthright of hearing God directly by deepening your consecration and living a life of obedience to Jesus as from today! You can hear the living God by and for yourself. He desires to speak with you always.
