SEEKING GOD The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. (Psalm 14:2 NIV) When I read this passage I often wonder if I truly seek God? If my being is still so self-centered and selfish that I really dont even show up on Gods radar at all, as one who passionately seeks after the Righteous One? Do I only offer him lip service, or have I, with reckless abandon, offered every fiber of my being, in my hunger to know this omnipotent and omniscient God of the universe? I want to know him in all his splendor and majesty and power and glory! I want to connect with him and be used by him even more, with every passing day. I long to deepen my love and devotion as I offer my life, my strength and soul to him. I want my life to be used by him to leave his fingerprint all over the people his heart is broken for! The poor, the broken, the downcast and outcast! The widow and the orphan cry out to him and have need of so much, while I have so much? Am I willing to hunger after God, and allow all I have possession of to be laid at his feet, and be a blessing to others in need? I yearn to have the resources of this world at my fingertips to be used as a reflection of your generous heart O God! He promised me that if I ask I would receive, and if I seek, I would find, and if I knocked, he would open the door!! Matthew 7:7-8 promise me these wonderful things! Additionally, he said in James 4:8 to come near to him, and we would come near to me! Oh God, let the promises of your eternal word be true, and may you be found by us all here on this planet! May the praise of our lips, and the longings of our heart, be a sweet aroma to you, and may the investment of our lives into the lives of others bring you renown throughout the earth! May we be a people who are known for hungering and seeking after you God! Show us how to seek you and find you! Help us by the power and presence of your Holy Spirit, how to earnestly seek you and find you! That, O God is our prayer and our plea this day. We have grown so weary of the religious forms and rituals of man-made religion, and only want the reality of your holy presence, what ever that looks and feels like! Let those who truly thirst for you, like a deer who pants for the water, find you and may we glory in your brilliant presence on earth as it is in heaven!!
