SELF-LOVE Love you In spite of your natural defects No one was born Or has grown Into perfect The reason why your flaws are amplified by others is because they fear the magnificent person that you are Look passed the physical You may not look like a super model But you are definitely a superstar You look different, act different or are just plain weird Because people who blend in don’t stand out And are therefore not physically equipped to hold the attention necessary to get your message out With that life altering impact as intended That will leave some listeners changed but all hearers affected The stares from the eyes that are drawn to you The ones that annoy and embarrass you Are really the eyes of the audience that’s waiting to hear you speak Those same eyes will be sending you friend request next week Not because you changed in the physical But in the mental The emotional The spiritual Now your level of comfort with your imperfections Goes beyond their realm of understanding They can’t believe that you’re standing Out there Without a care About the flaws that they see And that your only remedy Is to just be you By doing that you obstruct their view Of what they think you should want to be And allow them to see Who you’re now proud to be Do you realize? How much time And effort your critics put in daily just to look like everybody else? Rather than just being themselves The uniqueness that you are serves a purpose And you’re more than worth it So embrace you Love you Do you . . . . Just be you #JustInking
