SERIOUS POST AHEAD. Cosplay is NOT consent. A revealing - TopicsExpress

SERIOUS POST AHEAD. Cosplay is NOT consent. A revealing costume, or ANY costume, is not an invitation to the unwanted physical contact party. NO ONE WANTS TO BE AT THAT PARTY. Harassment is never appropriate. Vulgar behavior is unacceptable. Please do not put anyone else in a position where they could be potentially uncomfortable. If you want to feel part of anothers costume (for example, youve never used EVA foam and youre curious about the texture), ASK FIRST. If you want to pose for a photo in a particular way that would require touching (for example, picking them up or being put in a headlock) ASK FIRST. Respect others, their costumes, and their space. Conventions are fun, and Id like everyone to experience ALL OF THE EPIC THINGS they offer, but we need to work together to make sure everyone is SAFE. If someone is harassing you, let someone know. Conventions have a strict policy. If you see someone ELSE being harassed, let someone know. Volunteers and security wear recognizable colors and clothing. Dont be ashamed or embarrassed to ask for help. If you need to, find ME, and I will get it sorted out. Be respectful, be safe, and look out for each other. Lets make sure every convention is fun place to be, just as they should be!
