SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT: Chanced upon Mayor Rolen C Paulino yesterday during a breakfast meeting organized by the Subic Bay Freeport Chamber for Health & Environment Conservation (sbfCHEC) re Aloha Mission (medical and surgical- details to be announced). We asked him about Olongapo FL and SBMA board director Cynthia Paulinos voting position on the approval of the 600-mgwt CFPP by SBMA board. Mayor Paulinos reply: The resolution was approved BEFORE Director Paulino assumed a seat at the board. Further, he said: I REMAIN OPPOSED TO THE PROPOSED 600-MGWT COAL-FIRED POWER PLANT PROJECT IN SUBIC BAY BY RPEI. Mr. Paulino and some city council members who remain with us in this advocacy were reportedly invited TWICE to join an all-expense paid junket aka inspection tour of CFPP models in Taiwan and Japan and twice they declined the invitations. There folks, straight from the horses mouth. We cannot play on speculation and talks alone. Lets endeavor to stay pro-active at all times. Ask our government officials what we need to know.
