SGK HEALTH INSURANCE - NEW CHANGES I have spoken with an Embassy official this evening, regarding the fact that persons have been informed that if they are retired (65+) their spouses will be removed from the system and only re-instated if they fill in a health declaration form and pay the monthly subscription which in fact doubles the SGK insurance for a married couple. The official has said that they have spoken to SGK HQ in Ankara who have confirmed that this is not the case and that they will be contacting this region HQ in Mugla which covers the Ortaca branch which has confirmed inaccurate information. The instruction will be to withdraw the current inaccurate directive. The suggestion is that as this is early days the Embassy will obtain proper clarification They are very concerned that this has caused hardship and worry to many of us who need this insurance. My advice is to do nothing and wait for proper confirmation from the Embassy.
