SHAHADA ANNIVERSERY! 45 years ago today i took my Shahada, July 22,1969 in Ft. Dix,New Jersey. It was and will always be the greatest event of my life,giving me a new life as a slave of Allah(swt) i was free from the invisable boundage of the heart and soul. When you strive to recognize Allah(swt) as your one and only master then you cant serve another,including humans,Shaitan,Jinn,Shaiateen, Nafs, (fleshly desires) in the many forms they manifest themselves. It has been some ride filled with many,many blessings. At the top of the long list is the beautiful Muslim Family Allah(swt) bestowed on me. A beautiful,dedicated Muslim wife of 47 years,many children and grand children. Sometimes im in the masjid like at Jummah during the Khutbah and i turn around and almost a dozen of my grandsons are siting in a row,brothers, cousins,etc,children of my sons and daughters,all Muslims praying together in the Masjid.My thoughts go back when it was only me and my wife back in the jahiliah before Islam. Never did we dream that someday we would have a large Muslim family. I think about the brother who gave me my shahada in the military during the Viet Nam years, Koharin Al Wakeel (ra) was his name. May Allah(swt) put nur in his kubah(grave) make it spacious and forgive his sins,grant him and his family Jannah,Ameen! To many things have happened in 45 years to do anything i state here any justice. I just want to thank my Rabb,Allah(swt) for guiding me and my family to Deen Al Haq,(truth) Deen Al Nur (light) Al Islam is the greatest most precious gift that can be bestowed on a human being! ShukarAllah Khathir! Thank Allah much for loaning me this amazing thing that i certainly will never deserve but is bestowed by his (Allahs(swt) undeserved mercy.
