SHORTER SHOWER | A couple of years back the Victorian government posted me a little blue egg-timer. It has Our Water stamped on one end and Our Future stamped on the other and a suction cup so I can stick it on my shower wall and watch the blue sand run for four minutes while I wash. A few months later the same government announced they were opening up land on the urban boundaries on Melbournes north and west for another 450,000 people. I can scarcely believe the glee with which our politicians announce growth. But Im posting my egg-timer back. Im not timing my showers while our government opens new suburbs.
