SIX MONTHS OF WINTER It snowed in October. On the pumpkin and the ghost. A spit of snow, just a little more than frost. It wasn’t something to fuss about. A chill was in the air. But at this time of year, we really didn’t care. November came. And with it came cold mornings and snow. Again, that is somewhat common, as we well know. Thanksgiving was snowy--snowed once again. Turkey and dressing, to Grandma’s house we go. Of course we expected this, of course it would snow. What is Christmas If not white. Another big snow to the children’s delight. But January and February- The weather man has named this stuff. Artic Blast!! The weather is really rough! Come on March--give us a break! This Madness (not basketball) is making me ill. When is it quitting--I’ve had my fill. The Robins are searching rather in vain. The Jonquils are drooping, as if in pain. When, Oh Winter, are you ever going to go? I’m sick of you and I’m really sick of the snow!
