SKIN CANCER ALERT TO ACTIVE DUTY AND VETERANS’ BY: A MILITARY MOM A couple of months ago, I saw a photo of a Military person who had just stepped off the tarmac to greet his family, after having been deployed to The Middle East. The First (1st) thing I noticed was 2nd Degree Burns on the side of the face of this Military Person. I made an inquiry to the immediate family and asked did this person forget to use the sun screen by issued by the DOD? THE ANSWER I RECEIVED FLOORED ME. THE DOD, DOES NOT, ISSUE: #1. SUN SCREEN, NOR DO THEY ISSUE, #2. ANY OTHER TYPE OF PROPHYLACTIC (PREVENTATIVE) SALVES, CREAMS, BALMS, ETC. TO REDUCE THE ODDS OF CONTRACTING SKIN CANCERS, AMONG OTHER THINGS ARE YOU KIDDING ME? IRAQ & AFGHANISTAN VETERAN MEDICAL COSTS CALCULATED @ TWENTY TIMES (20X) THE WAR DEBT: During the years 2009 and 2010, I attended Medical School at The University of Washington at Seattle, while my husband, Paul, received his Leukemia Treatment. It was during my “Medical School,” attendance (on an audit basis) where I learned that UW at SEATTLE is already gearing up and preparing for the Medical Crisis that is going to hit this country. It is only reasonable to predict that a great deal of the medical crisis will be our, VETERANS, who will have no idea that they should claim, SUN AND SKIN DAMAGE, ON THEIR EXIT PHYSICAL TO ENSURE VA COVERAGE AND A VA RATING. QUESTION: HOW & WHY DOES VETERAN MISMANAGEMENT HAPPEN? ANSWER: THE SHORT ANSWER : ACTUARIES WHO PREDICT THE ODDS OF EVERYTHING FROM HOW LARGE A YIELD WILL THIS YEAR’S CROPS PRODUCE, TO HOW MANY VETS WILL BE SAVVY ENOUGH TO CLAIM SUN AND SKIN DAMAGE ON THEIR EXIT PHYSICAL. SORRY FOLKS IF I HAVE OFFENDED ANYONE WITH MY “RANT ALERT,” AS TO OUR ACTIVE DUTY AND VETERANS. I JUST CAN’T CONTROL MYSELF.
