SLAVIC CABBAGE STEW: 2-1/2 lbs cabbage,cut into bite-size chunks 2-3 lbs flaken (can sub roast etc) 1-1/2 lb soup bones 1 can (16 oz.) whole tomatoes 1 large onion, chopped fine 2 carrots, peeled and grated 1 (16 oz) can tomato sauce 1 tablespoon salt 1 cup sugar 1 tablespoom minced garlic Place cabbage, soup bones, & flaken in a large pot. Add whole tomatoes, onion, and carrots and enough water to cover (~2-1/2 cups). Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer 2-1/2 to 3 hours. Remove soup bones and cut flanken into pieces before serving.
