‘SMILE DESIGNING’ IN EVERY DAY DENTISTRY A Two Day internationally certified program at Hotel Taj Banjara, Hyderabad July 26th & 27th 2014 Creating beautiful smiles is a process involving gathering the relevant information, organizing it, visualizing the end result based on the findings and then making an action plan to achieve the desired results. The actual conversion of the visualized end result into a reality in the patient’s mouth involves knowledge base and skill to use the various sources of information assimilated and interpret it as a diagnosis and use it to make an optimal treatment plan which is then split into small processes and sequenced in appropriate order to arrive at the desired end result. Hence, smile designing is a holistic, interdisciplinary approach towards esthetic enhancement. Day 1: The lecture will lay emphasis on how smile designing concepts need to be applied across all fields of dentistry and will establish that esthetic dentistry cannot be claimed as any specialty’s legacy. Cases will focus on designing smiles through the following approaches: No preparation Minimally invasive procedures Oral rehabilitation Interdisciplinary smile design Day 2: Various procedures incorporated in every day treatment offerings if rendered with predictable success make a big difference in ones clinical practice. Restoration of posterior teeth, anterior diastema management, class IV and Class V restorations with direct resins and teeth whitening are among these procedures. The lecture will focus on step by step protocol to master the above procedures Learning objectives: Preparation design for class IV, V and diastema Composite layering technique Building contact areas in class II restorations Bonding and post operative sensitivity Teeth whitening- in office ad at home Faculty: DR RATNADEEP PATIL graduated from Bombay University, he has maintained a successful private practice in Mumbai, since 1988 with special interest and expertise in Esthetic and Implant Dentistry. A Diplomate, International College of Oral Implantologists and author of the clinical textbook on esthetic dentistry titled ‘ESTHETIC DENTISTRY – AN ARTIST’S SCIENCE’. He has been actively involved in conducting continuing dental education programs since 1997 and lectures extensively all over India and abroad. He conducts several workshops on Smile Designing, Practice Management and Implant dentistry. At presently he is currently pursuing his Phd from Utrecht University. DR. ANJALI DILBAGHI Obtained her Bachelors Degree from Karnataka University, Dharwad in 1988 and completed her post graduation certification from NYU in ‘Esthetics and Oral Rehabilitation’. A rich work experience in Clinical and Corporate Dentistry and interest in Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry propelled her into sharing the various principles and philosophies of Esthetic dentistry with dentists from all over the country. Her contribution to articles in Indian publications has well been appreciated.
