SNPs A9 Phoney War starts today - beware and look at the options because there are a few which we will publish on Wednesday So, after tens of thousands of signatures, comments, videos, photos and representation to MSPs and MPs which are consistently 90% against the Yellow Vultures, the SNP are going ahead anyway with introducing what has to be the most ill conceived and dangerous system on the A9. Thousands of drivers have pointed out the driving standards are already getting worse, the bad overtaking manoeuvres happening below the speed limits will not get caught, Displacement effects are already taking place and drivers seek refuge on the old A9, the A82, A85 - and thats just the surface as the campaign has received countless comments from visitors saying that Aviemore is now off their lists and divert to Glencoe and Glenshee instead. But the point is this folks, for the next 6 months, basically sod all will happen on the A9 except Keith Brown attempting to claim the cameras have worked, when we all know they already arent. By launching them in the quietest driving volumes of the A9, when accidents are at their lowest historically, we are entering a phoney war. The impact will come from March 2015 when the tourist season starts and it is these tourists who we welcome who are disproportionately involved in the fatalities on the A9. The next 6 months will do nothing to educate our visitors so I urge you all, use the alternatives to save yourselves and your families from the new stage in the A9 Wacky Races Weve said before time and time again, we are on course for a multiple death, multiple vehicle pile up on the A9 as a result of the A9 ASCS system, driver experience is saying this loud and clear. We hope to god it doesnt happen, but the reality is with the very vocal driver experiences showing it is on the verge of happening already, we are waiting nervously for when not if .....
