SO HERE IS THE ANNOUNCEMENT: weve been teasing and hinting but the cat is out of the bag. Working Group Theatres OUT OF BOUNDS has won the NEFA National Theatre Project Award: t.co/5kJPGKdq88 This is the biggest honor that exists in the devised/company theater world right now. Some of the countrys biggest names (Young Jean Lee, SITI Company, Builders Association, Rude Mechanicals, Elevator Repair Service and more) have shared the honor. We moved back to Iowa five years ago and committed ourselves to becoming a nationally recognized theater. 2 weeks ago we won this. Next year we tour to 5 Performing Arts Centers, 2 major regional theaters and 1 national conference on the Imagining of Americas future, we will perform as part of seasons that include Yo-Yo Ma, Roberta Flack, the Joffrey Ballet, Double Edge Theatre and more. We are growing rapidly and will need support as we continue to push forward and fight for the creation of great theater, life changing art and sustainable lives, everywhere.
