SOMETHING NEW AT THE TEMPLE INSTITUTE At the conclusion of last Monday nights seventh day of Chanukah event in Jerusalems old city, kohanim carried the two sealed vessels of Holy Temple pure olive oil from the Menorah Kindling Demonstration in the Roman Cardo to the Temple Institutes Holy Temple Visitors Center, where they were placed next to the exhibitions golden menorah. There they will remain for safe keeping and to be seen by all who visit the Center, and ready to be brought at a moments notice to the Holy Temple, when it is built on the Temple Mount. The photo shows the two ceramic vessels filled with pure olive oil, standing in front of the base of the golden menorah. At the left can be seen the Hatava, the vessel used by the Kohanim to clean the seven menorah oil lamps each day before replenishing them with oil and rekindling them. Behind the Hatava can be seen the golden pitcher used by the kohanim to distribute the daily requirement of oil to a smaller flask from which the oil is poured into the individual menorah lamps. The reflection of two kohanim, who seem to be studying the two vessels can be seen in the glass of the exhibition case. The menorah seen in the photo is a model. The real Golden Menorah created by the Temple Institute, and ready for use in the rebuild Holy Temple, can be found some hundred meters away, alongside the Yehudah Halevi stairs leading down to the Western Wall Plaza.
