SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO: 2199 ~ ARK OF THE STARS TRAILER! The first full trailer for this all-new, highly anticipated, animated feature film, bowing in Japan on December 6th has just been released! The story is set between the Yamatos departure from Iscandar and their arrival on Earth, when our heroes come face to face for the first time with an advance fleet of the Comet Empire! And not only is this threat enough, but they also come up against rogue Garmilas task force! AHOY! SPOILERS AHEAD! This is going to be so bad ass, that I cannot wait to see the full film — and if the trailer is any indication, it will be filled with incredible space opera goodness! As featured on the movies new poster, Garmilas commander Fommt Berger survived the sinking of the Lanbea during the Battle of the Rainbow Star Cluster, and is back to settle the score, as well asa female Garmilas commander, who is an all-new character. A weapon seen in the original Comet Empire series, known in the US version as the Magna Flame Cannon, figures prominently, and the image of the original battleship Yamato from World War 2, sitting in a sea of green foliage, seems to recall Planet Phantom from the third television series, YAMATO III... Again, I cant wait!
