Ok, so I think I figured out Ornsteins current state with speculation as to why he would be in Drangliec. Nashandra, Queen of Drangleic is actually a small fragment of Manus, she mislead Vendrick into wagering war with the Giants for unknown reasons. Likely to gain control over the land for again, unknown reasons. Artorias fell to Manus long ago, corrupted by the Abyss, no longer able to pursue this threat, I believe Ornstein was sent to defeat Nashandra as the last able bodied Knight of Gwyns sacred 4, why Gwyndolin provided the illusion he was still in Lordran. However he suffered the same fate, fell pray to this seemingly unstoppable force. Could this mean the spread of the Abyss truly can not be stopped? Is the no hope? Why am I asked you all these questions? Mermaid man, barnacle boy, where are you!
