SPRING FISHING TIPS. This is a re post but still applies All right as promised we want to keep you informed of the current fishing conditions. It has been a little tough to get out some times but if you keep you eye on the weather conditions it should be possible. We have had lots of reports of guys catching lots of Brown trout and even the odd Salmon. One customer even caught a couple of Coho Salmon off the shore!! This shows that those fish are coming in shallow for some warm water. As far as what is happening it is a pretty typical spring pattern approach. You will mostly want to set up in about ten-fifteen feet of water and run some body baits in close in to the shore. Use your planner mast, or inline planner boards to get your bait away from the boat. As the fish stray away from your boats wake they will see your baits come by. The best baits to run are Ripplin Redfins, J 11s, J 13s, Storm Thunder sticks. Long A Bombers, Live target smelts Reef Runners. These are all body baits and can be run at a nice slow speed from 1.5 to 2.5 mph. If the names of these baits have got you stumped then drop by the store and we will place them in your hand to help you succeed with the spring fishing program. As the water warms up guys will start running small spoons a little farther out with dipseys or perhaps a deep diving body bait off a cannon ball out in 30 -40 to stay stealthy. Keep your eyes on our page for all the latest updates. We are open Monday to Thursday 8-5pm Friday till 7 Pm: on Saturday 9-5pm. We are closed Sundays
