SQUIRMY JELLY WORMS make for a fun spring treat for kids. Ingredients: •2 packs (3 oz) Raspberry Jello •1 pkg or 3 (1/4 ounce) envelopes unflavored gelatin (for extra firmness) •3/4 cup whipping cream •3 cups boiling water •15 drops green food coloring •100 flexible straws (or enough to fill your container) •Tall container (1 quart or 1 liter carton of milk) Directions: 1. Combine Jello and gelatin in a bowl and add boiling water. Stir until gelatin completely dissolves. 2. Let it cool to lukewarm, about 20 mins. Add whipping cream and 15 drops green food coloring. 3. Gather your straws (gently pull straws to extend to full length); put them in container. Straws must have a tight fit or be rubber banded together so that the gelatin stays in straws. For this reason, a 1 liter carton may be better. 4. Add gelatin mixture to straw-filled container. Let it set until firm, at least 8 hours, or cover and chill up to 2 days. 5. To remove "worms" from straws, you can either (a) roll a rolling pin over straws and squeeze worms out or (b) hold the straws over warm water; worms will slip right out. 6. Lay worms on waxed paper-lined baking sheets. Cover and chill until ready to use, at least 1 hour or up to 2 days. Worms will hold at room temperature up to 2 hours.
