Well, there was no time machine involved and it wasnt quite like this, but yeah something like this happened last night. There is absolutely no footage of the current tour. Its really amazing how this totally different 2014 King Crimson managed to capture all the details of Larks Tongues in Aspic Part I (from 1972) with this current lineup in a more modern interpretation with saxes and flutes instead of a violin. The opening had a more electronic gamelan feel than mbiras and it was interesting how Fripp did not always play his part, sometimes switching to the violin line and leaving Jakko to play his guitar parts. In fact, no matter who was playing guitar, one of them was doing the violin part and the woodwinds just added new textures. This was one of the more successful reinterpretations from the current tour. Some tracks were better than others, but OMG!! Did I actually heard this live last night? Never thought that would happen!! And this is how the show opened!! Amazing!!
