#SSU #NEWSUPDATE #OFFTHEWIRES President Jacob Zumas son Duduzane is expected to attend an inquest at the Randburg Magistrates Court on Friday. Zuma allegedly hit a minibus taxi in Rivonia, Johannesburg, while driving a Porsche, causing the taxi to overturn. One person was killed and three people were injured. At the time, metro police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the Porsche rear-ended the taxi on the M1 south off-ramp at Grayston Drive. Last month, the NPA declined to prosecute Zuma due to insufficient evidence. It said the matter would be referred to a magistrate for a formal inquest, to determine whether the accident was caused by a human error. Zuma did not appear in court for the inquest on 12 August. --------- Kuala Lumpur - A plane carrying the first remains of the 43 Malaysians killed in the MH17 disaster returned home on Friday, where they were to be sombrely received on a national day of mourning. The special Malaysia Airlines flight from Amsterdam touched down shortly before 10:00 (0200 GMT), bearing the remains of 20 people killed when the plane was shot out of the sky over war-torn eastern Ukraine. Malaysias King Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah, Prime Minister Najib Razak and other top officials were on hand for a solemn ceremony to receive the coffins at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The observance was to be followed by a nationwide minute of silence expected to bring its busy streets, schools and businesses to a standstill across the country of 28 million, while flags nationwide flew at half-mast. ------------- Cape Town - Parliament is set to establish a committee to probe the conduct of the Economic Freedom Fighters and a possible censure for the partys members who disrupted proceedings in the National Assembly on Thursday. The announcement came from National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete on Thursday evening after she had to adjourn the House following a stand-off between her and EFF members. President Jacob Zuma was unable to finish his oral replies to questions in the National Assembly as a result of the EFFs refusal to leave the National Assembly. Tensions rose after EFF leader Julius Malema objected to Zumas reply to a question about when he was going to repay part of the money spent on the R246m security upgrades to his private Nkandla homestead in KwaZulu-Natal.
