#SSU #TECHNEWS Apple is trying to bounce back after a tough week in which new iPhone 6 owners claimed their devices bend in pockets, Mac users have been exposed to a major security flaw and hundreds of people lost their phone signal after upgrading to iOS 8. It prompted dozens of parodies posted online, many from rival tech companies revelling in Apples misfortune, but also from completely unrelated brands cashing in on the advertising opportunity. Samsung and Apple have been embroiled in countless lawsuits over the years. The South Korean company has issued a poster which seems to show the iPhone 6 bowing down to a Galaxy Note 3. The tagline reads: Bend to those who are worthy. Also on Twitter, beer brand Miller Lite has claimed that when its products bend they have succeeded in giving customers what they want. But in a not-so-subtle sideswipe at Apples expense, it conceded: It doesnt work for everybody. ---------------------- Almost $23bn (£14bn) has been wiped from the value of tech giant Apple, as it releases a second software patch for its troubled iPhone 6. The drop in market capitalisation on Wall Street came just hours before the tech giant released iOS 8.0.2 on Thursday night. The company said the patch promised to fix an issue that affected iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who downloaded 8.0.1 on Wednesday. Apple also repeated an earlier apology to owners of its newest iPhones who were affected by bugs. Some iPad users had also reported complaints. ------------- Were all used to games replicating space, but what if the tables were turned? Video games and consoles are evolving at a dizzying rate - and so are the controllers we use to play them, so much so that they could play a big part in future space exploration. NASAs Dr Jeff Norris explained to Sky News how designers and scientists are looking at ways of using gaming devices to control robots and spacecraft. Games companies are highly skilled at building control devices that are durable, highly capable and easy to use, he said.
