STATEMENT FROM HARRIS COUNTY LIBERTARIAN PARTY CHAIR KATHIE GLASS Yesterday, it was brought to my attention that HCLP Vice Chair Doc Greene had made certain statements on his Facebook page about gays that I do not share. He cited some life experiences and observations that I have not experienced or observed, and conclusions with which I do not agree. Doc Greene was not my choice for vice chair. I recruited and supported another candidate, but the majority prevailed, as it should have. I agree with those who say that our right to freedom of speech is critical to maintaining our freedom. I also agree that these comments do not violate the non-aggression principle which is the foundation of our philosophy. Nevertheless, those of us in leadership cannot always say whatever we want. For that reason, after consulting with other members of the County Executive Committee, I have asked Doc Greene to resign his position as vice chair of the Harris County Libertarian County, and after some discussion and reflection, he has agreed to do so.
