(STEVEN) UPCOMING CATALINA TRIP!!!! Hey Guys! As you have been hearing for a while now, there is a Catalina trip coming up! We have an open water class finishing up at Casino Point (dive spot on Catalina) and I am inviting the whole club to come out and camp and dive for a couple days! It gonna be SWEEEEEET!!! Check out the details below: DATES: Oct 11th, 12th, and 13th. - If you can only go for a 1 or 2 of those days that’s ok! Just come when you can. - I will be heading over on the Oct 11th 2:00pm boat WHERE: Hermit Gulch Campgrounds (on Catalina Island) - Campground Address: Avalon Canyon Road, Avalon, CA 90704 - The cost per person is $21 per night COSTS: All 3 days: - Approx. $250 2 Days: - Approx. $200 1 Day: - Approx. $150 - The only money you will give to the club is your $21 camping fee. You are responsible for obtaining the following things: 1. Boat ticket (to and from) Catalina - Website for ticket purchase: - https://ssl.catalinaexpress/ - I usually leave out of Long Beach. It is the most convenient and least confusing place to leave out of. - Address for Long Beach departure: - 320 Golden Shore, Long Beach, CA 2. Camping Equipment: - Sleeping bags, tents, etc - Sport Chalet rents this stuff and more for fairly cheap prices. - You can also rent at the campsite. Its is a little more expensive though. 3. Money for Taxis: - Island taxis make life a lot easier! - The more people you have in one taxi, the cheaper it is! 4. Money for Food: - There is a grocery store and plenty of restaurants on the island so bring that chedda!!! 5. Scuba Gear Rental: - Getting your gear from Sport Chalet is recommended! - It’s about $10 cheaper than renting it on the island and the gear is better quality. 6. Tanks: - You can rent tanks at Sport Chalet or on the Island - Renting on the island is a little more expensive but it eliminates having to carry them around!
