STILL ON THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY BRUHAHA I totally condemn the intervention of the Police on the activities of the legislature. The Police should not ascribe to itself the position of referee to the legislature as it is only a unit of the executive. That on the one hand cannot solve the current problem. The issue is not about forcing Tambuwal to resign but as to where lies the sacrifice and concession for this nation and Governance to move on. You and I know that the standoff at the National Assembly is not a disagreement on PIB Bill or any other policy of the Federal Government as we see on CNN between GOP and Obama on Immigration. It is the bullying of a segment on the President not to contest and to grab power by a party. While Tambuwal can insist on hanging on to the office after his defection, but we must realize that we cannot force PGEJ to go to bed with a strange woman who has vowed to poison him. Now someone must concede or we close down the parliament. It is either the President accepts to take all the shit from Tambuwal who has vowed to keep the office despite being in minority in defiance to the President, or Tambuwal makes peace with the President or Tambuwal resigns peacefully. Or we slide into total anarchy, a state without a parliament. All these variables are probable. Those who said the President should get number before removing Tambuwal should also tell Tambuwal to get number for APC to lead the House before holding unto the position of Speaker. But those who quote NPN NPP coalition here are wrong. In a coalition the 2 parties are seen as one. To surrender a parliament to a minority party is in agreement and a product of consensus between the parties. Ume Ezuoke did not take the House in defiance to Shagari. Immidiately the GOP got the majority in USA, the Democrats stepped aside. The Democrats didnt say because we have Obama or because GOP will frustrate Mr President we shall not step down. When PDP were at the verge of losing it to APC they simply went underground and gathered numbers. Tambuwal can also build consensus and remain Speaker but not by telling Mr President I am out for you. All of us are right in our respective position, but the most enduring is that Tambuwal must give something to take something or else the President will not.... I repeat will not kow tow
