STOP MOVING: Proverbs 23:4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Im interested in the phrase cease from thine own wisdom. CEASE: To stop moving, acting or speaking; to give over; leave (off), let alone, rest, be unoccupied, want. THINE OWN WISDOM: understanding: - knowledge, meaning, X perfectly, understanding, wisdom. To give over your own understanding and knowledge. Could this mean that I should put my trust in The Lord? I think so. Proverbs 3:5- Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Sometimes I must trust in what seems impossible. Matthew 14:25-29 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26- And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27- But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28- And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29- And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. When putting trust in Jesus and what He has told me I could do. I must be extremely careful that I dont start out and then start thinking this is an impossible task. Matthew 14:30- But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name. Refrain: On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand. When darkness veils His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace; In every high and stormy gale, My anchor holds within the veil. His oath, His covenant, His blood Support me in the whelming flood; When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay. When He shall come with trumpet sound, Oh, may I then in Him be found; Dressed in His righteousness alone, Faultless to stand before the throne. Trust Jesus or Trust in myself and knowledge? No! No! No! I must cease from my wisdom.
