STORY OF MY LIFE PART FOUR: : THE DAY I BECAME A SERIOUS AND COMMITTED ACTIVIST I Remember it like yesterday......... I received a grant (if you can call that) for me attending University in 2005 in my first Semester and come second Semester we where told to pay our own fees,....it somehow affected me but knew my parents would sacrifice for me to go through my University studies. Fortunately or Unfortunately I belong to a family that are political in their thinking but not willing to execute their thoughts practically hence my political indoctrination from an early age...... I went to University at NUST and before i started my academics there, had an earful from my mothers(I have plenty loving Mothers) to stay away from Student Politics,,,,,,,and managed to do that until that Fateful day when a Full blown no nonsense activist was born. I was just coming from my Lecture and never knew that there was a Demonstration at the main campus against introduction of fees( Benjamin Nyandoro Beloved Chiweshe confirm what you did on that day guys) im just a Semester old at my University and still looking to hook up with galz,so im walking towards the main Campus where we Boarded our transport into town( with these gorgeous gals physically and intellectually as well) and in the full view of my Love targets get arrested and seriously bitten for being part of the demostration that completely shattered the glasses at the Administration Block... I AM BIG BODIED( and forever Stereotyped as a noisemaker ) and that i cant change at all and love the way i am hey... Walking towards my Transport area i get attacked by Riot police and they start saying i was involved in the Demonstration at The Admin building....As i try to explain myself out im attacked with Button sticks and later on taken to Bulawayo Central Station.....That day we where close to 90 students and many where released but because i couldnt keep my mouth shut asking questions i was further detained, I just hate Police Cells and growing up was socialized to never become a visitor or a resident of those cells,ALAS here i am wrongly accused of a revolutionary action that in anyway was never part of. I stay in the cells for 6 days (mind you its my first time in a police cell) ....the Police couldnt come up with a charge that would stick in Court of Law and chose a part of the ACT to further detain us more than the customary 48 hours.,,... After my encounter with the unjust legal and police system of my country i simply decidde to put my beliefs and my conscience as a priority in my life. Since that encounter with the State security my life has not being the same ........................I dont regret anything at all for them ( state police) to unknowingly literary push me to realise who i am a Revolutionary. Anyone from NUST can testify that i live up to my words through Action... What i can do to in my lifetime is try at least end the socio-economic illness of our country. For Clarity sakes im a democtratc who doesnt subcribe to any of the MDCs Parties ,Factions or Splinters and will continue in that trajectory till my generation realizes that it has the power to change the Country and thats across the political divide. ,,,,I will never ever BOOTLICK anyones Ass in my lifetime....i just say things as they are.
