STRUCTURE FIRE: The LA/BC Fire Department and Bent County Ambulance were sent to a structure fire on the 700 block of Locust Avenue very early this morning in Las Animas. Thankfully, no one was displaced from their home and damage is said to be contained to one room in the house. No other information is available. This is at least the third reported structure fire in the Arkansas Valley since Friday, November 24th. Lamar Fire and Ambulance have responded to two structure fires in Lamar in that time frame which resulted in extensive damage and possible resident displacement.
