SULU’S EXIT EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW (Part 2) Q: Sulu, why were you so sure that you are Africa’s Top 5? Who did you think would be in that Top 5? SULU: Um first of all, it was the housemates that gave the confidence not myself. Me myself sometimes I could doubt myself that “hmm I’m talking too much” you know when you’re observing yourself thinking all of the people around you but looking at how they were nominating, I expected that they were nominating me, ya of course they were nominating me but it could not reach to a level whereby a large number hits you. So it developed from that thinking that “ oh my fellow (we were a lot), that my fellow housemates appreciate my presence in this place” of course if these people in the house appreciate my presence , obvious my mother appreciates me, my community appreciates me, obvious Zambia appreciates me and to a large extent possibly Africa appreciates me, so it’s that which gave me the confidence and when Biggie asked me I just mentioned 4 names because it was randomly like “who do you see …” then you start talking but at this point um I saw myself yes quite alright, I saw Melvin, I saw O’neal though along the way I could see him falling out but he was on the list, then there was Cleo of course my sister then the last one I’ve come up close with is Angelo. Q: Why did you betray Angelo? Where you able to restore your friendship? SULU: What happened between me and Angelo, it was a situation where I looked at it as I had 3 people that were my friends and before Angelo came remember O’neal was my close friend and then Feza came. Feza could have been the victim but I didn’t, I mean I don’t know how I connected with her then she saved you know. She was supposed to save Bolt because you remember she was with Bolt for a very long time. So after her saving me, I was just like touched. Then it came to Angelo and I said to myself like “oh sh*t”. I wanted to replace myself but I didn’t know how much Africa could see me because I’m not a West African anyway (smiling) because they’re known to be a stronghold in this game. So I was like “If I put myself won’t I look stupid before my country to say how can you do such a stupid thing?” So I had to sacrifice one of them not based on differences , I never differed with Angelo, I love Angelo to death (hitting his chest and smiling) but when I did that Angelo my friend is emozional! He’s a guy that when he’s not happy, you’ll see it. He’s just like me to certain extent but I’m a little bit better in terms of trying to pretend like trying to manage emotions, you know what I’m saying. Him, he just espresses it , he was hurt! He came to me and said "you betrayed me". Eish I was touched, I thought “I wish there was any other way I could have used to sort things out” but what I did is I never pushed him towards me and he never pushed himself towards me. Along the way you know Birds of the same…how do you say it “ Birds of the same feather flock together” something like that! Naturally, we never talked about it, naturally he started opening up , we started getting along and for me he was always welcome because I was the guilty man, so eventually all went well, even when I was leaving , he cried you under stand, so you can’t say he hated me you understand…My decision was viewed outside Africa as Betrayal but for me I don’t look at it as betrayal, I look at it as Big Brother forcing us to make a decision whether you like it or not. Q: What advise would you give anybody who wants to enter Big Brother Africa next season? SULU: People who wants to go into the Big Brother house, looking at how I’ve archieved myself, I think the most important quality without running away from it is ‘yes’ you have to be yourself but if yourself is not good enough that’s where now you have to also bring in other issues.
