SWAZI HYPOCRITES SHOULD BE SENT BACK HOME SSN-STATEMENT: May - TopicsExpress

SWAZI HYPOCRITES SHOULD BE SENT BACK HOME SSN-STATEMENT: May 4th, 2014 The Swaziland Solidarity Network [SSN] wishes to warn the African Union [AU], the Southern African Development Community [SADC] and the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa [IEC] about the true intentions of the team of observers representing the Swazi government at this year’s elections in South Africa. Our network firmly believes that South Africa as a democratic country should only be observed by people who represent countries which have fully functional democratic institutions and similar respect for the rule of law and human rights to the Republic of South Africa because they are most likely to have better observation skills than those coming from the authoritarian country known as Swaziland. The disturbing truth is that Swazis are misled everyday by Mswatis minions that Multi-party democracy is an un-African system which has failed in Africa and leads to wars and poverty. It therefore clear that these observers will later go back to Swaziland and propagate lies to the Swazi population about the South African elections. What exactly will Swazilands observers be observing in a democratic election where state power will be genuinely contested when back home king Mswati and his family are the only ones entitled to state power? Moreover, at this very moment the despot, Mswati, is violating the bill of rights contained in his own constitution by arresting those who question his courts and those who practice their freedom of assembly. For South Africa to allow representatives of such an oppressive regime will dilute the spirit of political tolerance, respect for human rights and democracy that these forthcoming elections are meant to foster. We therefore call upon the South African Government to send these Swazi hypocrites back to Swaziland because they fail to adhere to democratic principles back at home but now wish to go on holiday in South Africa in the name of observing elections.
