SWIFT WATER RESCUE RESPONSE - SNOQUALMIE (WA): A vehicle into the flooded Snoqualmie River prompted a rescue response by Bellevue Firefighters along with east county fire crews yesterday afternoon. In all, Engine 281, Ladder 87, Medic 2, Aid 281, Battalion 74, and Battalion 91 responded. The vehicle was found to be unoccupied and fortunately in shallow water. A search of the area found no victim, and follow-up efforts were underway to confirm location. Later another river rescue response turned out to be an kayaker intentionally navigating the rain swollen river, who despite the concerns of witnesses, was apparently not in peril. The river conditions remain extreme. Please avoid river recreational activities, and dont attempt to drive through flood waters.
