SYNOPSIS: Happy Tuesday! Heres the weather synopsis... ASIA: Plenty of clouds are blanketing the Korean Peninsula into Japan because of an initial low pressure system that is moving east from South Korea and its associated stationary fronts. This will control the weather through Wednesday, and then another low will move out of eastern China and create a repeat cloudy and rain scenario for the rest of the week. Temperatures will begin to drop as the low pulls down colder air from the north, resulting in highs only being in the teens for the Korean Peninsula and Japan. The weather remains relatively dry for northern China, but the poor smog conditions are leading to bad air quality. OCEANIA: A cold front is moving through Southern Australia, primarily bringing some clouds through the region, but all in all, its a relatively dry forecast for the country. Expect the front to move eastward and bring some clouds for Victoria and New South Wales for Wednesday. Some rain is rolling over North Island as a low pressure system approaches. Expect to see heavy rain at times for the northern parts of North Island, though some scattered showers are possible into South Island with a mix of sun and clouds. EUROPE: The remnants of Hurricane Gonzalo is causing very windy conditions for Iceland and the British Isles, with some areas reporting winds as high as 80 kph. Expect the windy conditions to continue as the low travels to the north. There is rain associated with this low pressure system, so it will also be a bit wet. Another low pressure system in the eastern side of the continent is causing cold temperatures and snowfall in Russia, including Moscow and St. Petersburg. Much of the continent will be impacted by a lingering cold front moving through the central portions of Europe. Winds as high as 100 kph have been reported north of Italy. This will also be an issue for Tuesday. NORTH AMERICA: Much of the central United States and southern Canada are experiencing very sunny and dry conditions as high pressure takes over the region. However, there are still frontal boundaries to the north and east into places like the Ohio River Valley, so there will be some clouds filtering through. Rain is rolling through the US Northeast and through Quebec, but the system will depart in a couple of days. There are a line of clouds that are now moving through the northern Rockies, and that may spark off a few showers. However, no severe weather is expected for Tuesday. Hope you have a terrific Tuesday wherever you are!
