SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST: On August 28th, 2014, at 2016hrs, members of the Decatur Police Departments Anti-Crime Unit were patrolling in the area of 6th Ave and Church Street NE. Officer Nicholas Hill and Michael Kitchens conducted a traffic stop at the corner of Church St. and 6th Ave NE for a traffic violation (No Turn Signals). The driver of the vehicle was identified as Shannon April Hitt and the passenger was identified as Shaun Christopher Holley. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Holley had an active warrant through the Athens Police Dept. During further investigation, Holley was found to be in the possession of a quantity of marijuana. Hitt was found to be in the possession of prescription medication (controlled substance) without a valid prescription, a quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both Hitt and Holley were placed under arrest and transported to the Decatur City Police Department where they were processed in without incident. Hitt was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Turn Signals Required. She will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $4,000.00 bond. Holley was charged with Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree. She will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $2,500.00 bond.
