SYSTEMA Training and Fighting in Water - March 9th 2014 This was our second Training and Fighting in Water workshop. Many of the guys found that working in water enhanced their sensitivity, awareness and flow. A Great time had by all, much fun and learning! Deepest thanks to the guys for a great training session! Subjects covered: Submerged Face Breath Hold Push-ups Face underwater at bottom of press-up - Holding breath on inhale (hold 30%) - Pyramid (10 up & 10 down) Rolling in Water Inhale roll in shallow water (shore line) Multiple rolls forwards - Start with 2 up to 6 rolls (continuous rolling without hesitation) Rolls backwards into water / across shore line. Rolling from push-up / crouched position (partner forces head / neck into water) Rolling over obstacles / partner (from height) Escapes from Grabs, Locks and Holds Starting at waist depth apply hand / arm control (submerge partner and release) Striking and Kicking in water Dropping Heavy Hands Into Water (feeling weight, depth and relaxation) Punch: Deep striking Hands above water Punch: Deep striking Hands below water Kick: Front-Kick, High knee (draw leg to chest) Take-downs and Submerging opponent Use tension spots / points of control to submerge opponent All against all free sparing (Play Time!) Full body striking, Take-downs, Submerging, Holds, Kicks and Multiple-attacks.
