Sachin Tendulkars autobiography reveals something which in my opinion brings down the legend in my eyes. Can Sachin cite any reason why he did not muster courage to stand by Ganguli to oppose the intentions of Guru Greig ? Ganguli was the person who made it easy for Guru Greig to becone Indias coach and I hold high honours for Ganguli who opposed tooth and nail every wrong step of Greig. And see Ganguli had to face the of ire of opposing Grieg by ultimately losing his place in Indian team. Who can deny Ganguli was the person who made Indian team to see straight into the eyes of opponents? But our most revered Sachin could not muster courage at right time to speak out to call a spade a spade. The result was that Ganguli was out of Indian team and Sachin continued to earn laurels and ulitimately became Bharat Ratna. And see the irony ! Indian media is all praises for Sachin who continued playing cricket without speaking anything adverse about Greig unlike Ganguli who was vocal against Greig saying that Sachin kept mum for Indian cricket. For me Ganguli served country at the cost of his own career whereas Sachin kept mum and ignored the interest of country for his own career to become Bharat Ratna by disserving the country. Cant we assume, presume and take liberty to conclude that Sachin gave precedence to his career over speaking against Greig and current disclosures in his book are simply gimmicks to enhance sale of his book? For me Sachin has acted in a manner unbecoming of a person of his status and certainly brought down the image of a Bharat Ratna !
