Sadly. Yes, sadly is a word spoken often lately. Sadly, another school shooting. I know I am sounding a little preachy here, but sadly too many schools have been bloodied, too many kids have killed other kids and then themselves, too many Columbines, Sandy Hooks, and now Marysville. The talking heads on TV bring in their experts to analyze the shooter, discuss drills, and rehash the situation; yet sadly they seem all to be hesitant to say the truth. The truth is not popular. The truth is not commercially correct. But the truth is we have raised our kids on super violent movies, TV shows, and video games, where killing is glamorized and consequences are minimized. Years ago I heard a so called psychologist say that violence in entertainment does not lead to violent behavior in real life. I thought then, as I do now, that the guy was a complete fool, or he must have been paid a lot to say such an idiotic and dangerous thing. Sadly, people believed the lie. Thankfully, not every kid who is fed a steady diet of killing scenes in media will kill. But sadly, some will. Parents be aware of what your children are watching. We have had to say Sadly all too much. Do good today.
