Sadly, four-year-old Pete, a happy American Bulldog, wasnt always smiling like he is in the first photo below. Pete came to the MD SPCA extremely emaciated, weighing only 34 lbs and his nails were painfully overgrown. The MD SPCA created a special feeding plan for Pete to help him safely gain the necessary weight he needed to survive. Pete spent more than a month in foster care with a MD SPCA staff member, gaining back his strength and receiving lots of TLC. Now Pete is ready to be adopted! Pete is looking for a family who will give him the attention and love that he deserves. This well-behaved boy, who now knows sit, come, lay, and shake, likes to play with other dogs and thinks kids are super fun! He even plays catch by himself. :) Meet Pete at the MD SPCA today until 6:30 p.m., Wed-Friday 12-5 p.m. and Sat/Sunday 11-4 p.m. If you cant adopt, but would like to support the work we do to help pets like Pete, visit mdspca.org. The MD SPCA receives no funding from the government or from any other animal welfare organizations including the ASPCA. Thanks to community support, were able to save pets like Pete! mdspca.org/adopt/pets/pete/
