Sagesse sign American-Nigerian combo guard Efevberha August 14, 2013 12:14 AM By Dany Abboud The Daily Star BEIRUT: Eight-time Lebanese champions Sagesse signed American- Nigerian guard Michael Efevberha Tuesday, completing their first move ahead of the 2013-2014 season of the Lebanese Basketball League. Efevberha (193 cm, 28 years) is a combo guard who played in the Russian Superleague last year with Spartak Primorye Vladivostok, where he averaged 12.8 points per game. He then moved to the Czech Republic where he played with CEZ Basketball Nymburk and averaged 10.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. The last couple of seasons Efevberha played mainly in Switzerland with short stints in the Dominican Republic and France. Previously he also played in New Zealand and the NBA D-League. Efevberha was voted “guard of the year” both in New Zealand and Switzerland. He is also a member of the Nigerian national team with whom he was the third leading scorer (17.4 ppg) at the African Championships in 2009.
