Sam joined my furmily 2 years ago today as a foster :D Actually he was my first Foster dog ever! And also my first Foster Winner (aka Foster failure) :) He urgently needed to leave Isle Of Wight County Animal Shelter. I am not sure if it was a volunteer for the shelter or a worker that sent an urgent plea to Paws for Seniors. I still have the letter and read it often. Thankfully Paws for Seniors stepped up and saved his life. He arrived at my home and I knew very soon he would never leave. These days you would never know he was a stray....the sores on his elbows from laying on concrete have finally almost disappeared and the nervous grunts everytime I leave the house have faded :) He LIVES for car rides and escorting me on my weekend run to the recycling center & then Starbucks for the both of us :D Thats our special time together. He also must have his nightly lap time...and if another pup is laying on my lap, he will pretend he sees something important outside and start barking so the other pup runs to the window....once the pup is up, Sam jumps so fast to grab his spot....he is a very smart boy! Also as everyone knows, he loves taking #selfies :D In the last two years he has helped foster many other pups and I am sure many more are to come. As long as they dont try and steal his bed, or my lap in the evening, he is okay with having them around. He is around 9, or 10 or 11 years old....no one really can tell me....but what I do know is I feel like he has been my dog since he was a puppy :) I can see exactly what he looked like as a puppy, I see such vibrance and youth in his face. I am so grateful Paws for Seniors and the workers at the shelter he was in worked hard to save his life. Of course this morning I saw that Isle of Wight shelter is overflowing and in desperate need of fosters/adopters/rescues. Head over, maybe you will be lucky enough to find your Sam Snuggle Muffin Man
