San Antonio animal-loving folks, this is a complicated story, but - TopicsExpress

San Antonio animal-loving folks, this is a complicated story, but bear with me - its worth reading. A few weeks ago, my neighbor Sally posted a really touching story about her mail carrier and a neighborhood dog. A dog-meets-mailman story with a good outcome, for once. (Actually, shes a mail lady. But anyway.) Every day, Sallys mail carrier is joined by a sweet neighborhood lab mix when she does her route. (The dog has an owner, but in true midtown SA style, he is generally free to wander the hood). The dog is very gentle, friendly and obedient, and the mail-lady has gotten to know him well over the year that theyve walked the route together. At some point, she started treat training him -- he now responds to several commands. So. Isnt that sweet? Now the kicker - Sally has learned through her mail carrier that this sweet wandering pup has been picked up by ACS, and the owners are not claiming him (probably dont want to pay fees/fines). Fortunately, hes scored a bed at the Animal Defense League. Since it sounds like his previous owners suck at the whole dog owning thing anyway, I think this story will have a happy ending. Do you need a sweet and mellow 3yo-ish pup in your life? One with a great back story? Whos who has been vouched for and trained by a bona-fide employee of the U.S. Government? If so, contact the Animal Defense League and ask about #A317392. See pics and other info below (note and texts are from the mail carrier).
