Santander Universities Relationship Internship – (London) Initial 6 Month Period Start: Immediate Salary: Intern rate Role Description To support the Santander Universities U.K relationship team to help implement both the social responsibility and commercial activities for the Universities Programme. The role will focus on a variety of tasks including maintaining database information, event management, creation of documentation, client liaison and ownership of some key portfolio project work all with a view to helping to develop and manage relationships within the global Santander Universities network . A summary of potential work areas are listed below: Key Responsibilities • Build awareness of the Universities programme at all levels of Santander UK as well as within the UK Higher Education sector. • Assist the relationship management team with maintaining and developing the agreements of the UK partner Universities. • Maintenance and monitoring of accurate databases of awards and scholars, • Assist with various initiatives and events to raise awareness of the Santander Universities division • Keep up to date the internal information and reference sheets. • Assist with administration of the Santander SME internship programme Agreement Management Support the relationship team to. • Agree and assist in the writing of the principal and ancillary agreements and to liaise with legal teams to ensure all correct prior to signing. • Maintain an up to date database of recipients, ensuring compliance with partnership agreement. • Assist in the arrangements of signing events and ceremonies, lectures events, and executive campus visits.. • Support the relationship managers in regular reviews with the Institutions, and ensure adjustments or amendments are actioned where necessary. • Help to maintain a continuous working relationship with each Institution Programme Management • Provide full support as part of the Universities team to maintain and develop the scope and scale of the Santander Universities programme across the UK, • Assist in the Development of partnerships with institutions /external bodies to ensure that the Bank becomes recognised as a key National supporter of Higher Education. • Help to maintain a scholarship management database, to assist in the monitoring of all award recipients under the universities program. • Work with the Relationship Director and Operations Director to ensure payments and maintenance of the awards within the institutions are correctly applied, and recorded on Scholarship database • Assist in building international links with Global team across the Santander Universities network. • Work with internal teams and universities partners to develop and build the SME Internship programme Commercial Contribution Support the Santander Universities team to • Identify and recognise new opportunities within the sector and proactively share this knowledge with relevant divisions of the bank and Universities retail team. • Assist the Santander University teams to enhance both the educational and commercial relationship with the Corporate and retail teams. • Have a full understanding of the Universities commercial requirements and link these to the relevant Santander division whether this be a commercial advance, capital expenditure funding, investment portfolio management, or other need. Recognise opportunities. Event management • Assist with the organisation and management of all events to meet the wider objectives of the university program., such as scholar receptions, lecture events, signing ceremonies. • Ensure that the Bank is involved and invited to award, scholarship and sponsor events, organised by network universities • Assist partner universities both within UK and Santander countries to set up contacts, events and facilitate local commerce meetings using the expertise of the bank contacts, in network countries. • Liaise with key contacts in partner universities to ensure all events are well attended and deemed to be successful.
