Sat on our porch last night listening to the frog philharmonic. The little frogs sounded like a bunch of middle school trumpet players who had just found a box full of Harmon mutes. The big guys, apparently few in number but mighty in force, were like fortissimo Bass pizzacatoes now and then punctuating the flittering eighth and sixteenth note patter of the muted ones. At one point in the performance the muted guys dissonant but tonal sonority crescendoed to a climactic cacophony then quickly died away to silence to be followed just a beat later by two perfectly timed eighth notes croak croak from the big guys like a double tagged tonic at the end of a great symphonic movement, There was then silence after which the next movement started. Hilarious.
